Um retrato, por The Love Studio

Hoje temos, novamente, algo ligeiramente diferente do habitual mas igualmente bonito e especial. Da dupla espanhola The Love Studio, cujo trabalho é belíssimo, chegou este retrato do Maurício, o talento que dá corpo e forma às flores da delicada loja Em Nome da Rosa, no Príncipe Real em Lisboa.

Cruzei-me com uma destas imagens, um retrato do Maurício envolto em fumo de cigarro, no meio das flores. Para quem o conhece, e à sua fabulosa loja, uma verdadeira caverna de Ali Baba, em versão floral, é mesmo isto, é mesmo assim… um ambiente de penumbra, entrecortado por raios de sol, flores exuberantes e fantásticas, arrumadas por volumes, cores e texturas e uma figura elegante, de mãos esperientes, envolta em fumo cinza.

Uma semana depois, estava a receber na minha caixa de email uma simpática mensagem da Andreea e Nino, deliciados com o Simplesmente Branco e a propôr-me a publicação destas belas imagens.

Termino com umas breves palavras desta dupla, a propósito destas imagens:

 

“The Love Studio was created because we realized that together, we told better stories. We are both very curious about life in general and people in specific…in fact, people fascinate us. This is why we became photographers in the first place, and The Love Studio is our excuse to get to know people intimately. Photographing weddings is so satisfying to our curiosity because we get to see all the different ways that people love one another, the ways they live out their love. We get to see things and ask the kinds of questions that would be considered totally inappropriate in any other context! The Love Studio allows us the freedom to meet intriguing characters, such as Mauricio Fernandes of Em Nome da Rosa. Walking into his Principe Real flower shop had us feeling like we had walked into a cinematic parallel reality, where white-hot rays of light cut through an elegant darkness, and smoke billowed up into a creative dance. He was preparing an arrangement for the Hermès store in Chiado during our photoshoot, and without missing a beat, Mauricio told us the story of his shop, savoured some ginjinha, chatted with a few clients and wove his spell on us. We loved his sense of humour with this phrase scribbled on a chalkboard “Todas as mulheres são belas, e também os homens”“.
